Child Safety Commitment Statement

Child safety is our highest priority and central to everything we do.

At Florence Road Pre School, we consider each child’s right to feel safe and be safe at all times our highest priority.  We support and respect all children.  We are committed to the cultural safety of Aboriginal children, the cultural safety of children from culturally and/or linguistically diverse backgrounds, and to providing a safe environment for children with a disability.

We actively minimise risk in the physical environment and promote psychological and emotional safety by knowing each child, building a relationship based on respect and trust.  All staff complete the latest Child Safe Training through the Department and remain up-to-date with current research, in line with National regulations and law.  This ensures that our staff can promote and maintain a culture of safety.

All our parent volunteers have a Working With Children Checks.  We help ensure our children have the knowledge and confidence to speak to someone if they do not feel safe.  Where there are concerns regarding the safety of children, our staff are ethical, professional and timely in our communication of concerns.  Please refer to our ‘Child Safe Environment Policy’ on our website for further information.
